KYJOE'S SWEET AND SOUR GREEN BEANS

Some people love this and it is one of my favorites. Goes great with my mash potatoes and meatloaf.

6 to 8 cans (16 ounces each) French cut green beans
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup water (as needed)
1 pound bacon
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper.

Put green beans and onion in a pot (do not drain beans). Bring to a boil. Add the sugar and vinegar. If your beans are really boiling hard and the liquid is low add 1/2 cup of water and keep boiling.

Fry bacon in a skillet. Pour the bacon grease into the beans that are cooking. Save the bacon and when it cools down and gets crispy, crumble it all up; set aside.

After the beans boil down then take the pan off the stove and drain the liquid. Put the beans in a serving dish and sprinkle bacon pieces on top and WALLA!!!!DELICIOUS!!!!
