Butter Cookies
1 lb. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 4 c. flour 1 c. sugar (granulated)
Cream butter; add sugar, vanilla and egg. Mix thoroughly. Add flour slowly; when all mixed, form into rolls. Wrap in wax paper and chill for 4 to 6 hours. Put into cookie press and form on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes about 50 cookies.
Butter Cookies
1 lb. butter 2 eggs 2 c. sugar 5 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla
Mix butter and sugar until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla. Add 1 cup of flour at a time until all flour is mixed. Allow dough to cool in refrigerator a few hours until able to roll out and cut. Roll dough and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes great Christmas cut-outs.
