Hi Kaye,

I found this recipe in one of my german cookbooks I quickly translated it so I hope its correct.

German Musli

2 cups whole oats
1/2 cups wheat germ
1/2 cups sunflower seeds
1/2 cups coconut(optional)
1/2 cups Hazelnuts, grated or finely chopped
1/2 cups Almonds, skinned, grated or finely chopped
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of vanille powder (vanille extract would probably work too)
3 tablspoons oil
3 tablspoons honey
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup korinthe (a special type of raisin) if you can't find them just add 1/2 cup of raisins

Mix oats, wheat germ, sunflower seeds and coconut.

Mix all nuts, cinnamon, and vanille into grains mixture.

In a deep frying pan add oil and honey, heat until it bubbles about 2 minutes, on medium heat.

Add grain mixture into frying pan, cook, stirring continuously, for about 5 minuted.

Turn heat to low. Wash raisins and korinthe; drain. Add to nut mixture in frying pan and continue cooking for another 5 minutes over low heat, stirring continuously.

Remove from heat and let the Musli cool completly. Store store in an airtight container, in a cool place. You can store it for up to 1 week.

You can serve it with fresh fruit and milk or yogurt (flavored or plain).
