Hope one of these helps. You weren't specfic about what type of roll. I'm guessing you meant cinnamon roll style of roll and not the chocolate filled bun style popular in France.
Chocolate Rolls
2 eggs 1 c. sugar 4 Tbsp. cold water 1 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt powdered sugar
Beat 2 egg yolks; add sugar slowly; add cold water. Sift flour with baking powder and salt; add alternately with 2 beaten egg whites. Spread thinly on greased pan. Bake in moderate oven 15 minutes. Turn out on damp cloth, trim edges. Spread with filling and roll in cloth while warm. When cool, remove to plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Filling For Chocolate Rolls: 1 c. milk, scalded 1 1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate 1/4 c. flour 1/4 c. cold milk 1 Tbsp. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Scald 1 cup milk; add chocolate. Thicken with flour mixed with cold milk. Add butter and beat in sugar, egg and salt. Cook over hot water until smooth and thick. Remove from stove and add vanilla. Spread on rolls
Chocolate Rolls
Pastry: 2 c. flour 1 Tbsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 Tbsp. sugar 1/4 c. Crisco shortening 3/4 c. milk
Filling: 2/3 stick margarine 3/4 c. sugar 1/3 c. cocoa dash of salt
Prepare pastry and roll out on pastry sheet into oblong shape to about 1/4-inch thickness. Melt margarine. Add cocoa, salt and sugar. Spread this over pastry with a spatula or knife. Roll pastry jelly roll fashion, then cut into individual rolls. Place on greased baking dish and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.

Batter:
1 c. warm milk 4 tsp. yeast 1/4 c. butter 3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 3 eggs, well beaten 4 c. flour
Filling: 1/2 c. honey 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/4 c. milk 1/4 c. melted butter 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 lb. ground nuts 3 Hershey bars
Combine yeast, salt, sugar and warm milk. Add eggs and butter. Mix well. Add flour gradually. Mix well. Knead until smooth. Place in bowl and set aside 1 hour to rise. Roll out dough on floured area. Roll thin. Prepare filling. Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Cook on low until candy bars melt. Spread filling evenly on dough. Roll up dough like a jellyroll. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
