Southern Style Skillet Cornbread
1 cup sifted flour 1 cup corn meal 4 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. salt 1 cup milk 2 eggs
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Put 8 inch cast iron skillet with a tablespoon of shortening into oven to get hot.
Mix together dry ingredients. Add milk and eggs. Beat until just smooth about one minute.
Pour into hot greased skillet return to oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
