I have a german cookbook from 1972 that has a recipe for cinnamon stars. I never tried it.

Cinnamon Stars

5 oz flour
2 1/2 oz sugar
3 1/2 oz cold butter, cut into small pieces
2 egg yolks
1/2 to 1 tbsp cinnamon, mixed with the flour
1 tbsp melted butter
sugar mixed with cinnamon

Quickly knead all ingredients into a dough and put in the fridge minutes at least.

Roll out very thin (about 1/16 inch) on a floured worktop. Cut out stars and put on a greased cookie sheet. Baste with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Put in a cold place for another 10 minutes then bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

I think the baking time might be a little bit long.
