Here's an easy bread machine recipe from Electric Bread Book, without fat & only enough sugar to feed the yeast. Because it has no fat, it goes stale quickly. It has a lovely crunchy crust & light, soft interior. I make this so it's finished by dinner time & it's so good, there're rarely left-overs.(I have a Welbilt).
Easy French Bread
Regular loaf: 3/4 cup + 1 TBSP water 2 cups white bread flour 1 TBSP sugar 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast OR 1 tsp fast rise yeast
Large loaf: 1 1/2 cup swater 3 1/4 cups white bread flour 1 1/2 TBSP sugar 1 1/2 tsp salt 3 tsp. active dry yeast OR 2 tsp fast rise yeast
