I've been searching for a really good Bourbon Chicken recipe. One that would be like those served in malls. It's been futile up till now. After doing a search I found a manufacturer of Bourbon Chicken marinade and sauce. One of the places listed selling it was at a local grocer. Sunday we bought the sauce at Publix. I'd already, in plans of finding a way to make this purchased a bag of frozen, deboned and skinned chicken thighs. I allowed them to get almost completely thawed. I made a marinade using the sauce as an essential ingredient in the marinade, to which I also added garlic salt, oil, vinegar, water, liquid smoke, salt, pepper. I eyeballed all these ingredients to what I usually like in a marinade. I live by less is more until you know what works. Then I just seared the chicken pieces in a pan sprayed with Pam. Allowed them to almost completely cook, removed, cut into small pieces and returned to the pan which I deglazed with a bit of water and allowed the chicken to finish cooking. I then added just a bit of brown sugar because I like a bit more sweetness. It was amazing and my family loved it. It's now a keeper recipe that I'll be cooking often.
