sre, I got this out og Quick Cooking, I haven't tried this recipe, but have tried a very similar one, which was very good. This would be pretty and it seems very easy.

Fancy Fuss-Free Torte

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 loaf (10-3/4oz) frozen pound cake -- thawed 1 can (21oz) cherry pie filling (or flavor of your choice) 1 carton (8oz) frozen whpped topping -- thawed 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Split cake into 3 horizonal layers. Place bottom layer on a serving plate; top with half of the pie filling. Repeat layers. Top with third cake layer. Frost top and sides with whipped topping. Sprinkle with pecans. Store in refrigerator.
