Hi Shirley: Don't know if you're interested in a Twinkie type Filling recipe. This is like whipped cream - only sweeter, but not as sweet as powdered sugar type frostings.
TWINKIE FILLING: 1 cup Milk 5 Tbsp. Flour Mix together and boil until thick STIRRING CONSTANTLY. Cool.
In separate bowl, cream together: 1/2 cup Butter or Margarine 1/2 cup Shortening 1/2 tsp Salt 1 cup Sugar Beat on high speed for 5 minutes.
Blend in the flour mixture and 1 Tablespoon of Vanilla (preferably clear vanilla) and beat until fluffy.
Put between layers of yellow cake, and as frosting for top. Best if left to stand at room temperature overnight.
This is a favorite with my family, they are always asking for my "Twinkie Cake".
