Katy, How about the "good old" Trail Mix recipe using equal amounts of M & M's, raisins and peanuts? You could use the Halloween orange and black M & M's.
Here is a recipe for Terrific Trail Mix which was in this weekend's USA Weekend which comes in our newspaper. I haven't tried this one but it sounds like it would be good.
Terrific Trail Mix
1 c. combination diced dried fruit, such as prunes, apricots, pears and apples 1/2 c. raisins and/or dried cherries or cranberries 1 1/2 c. unsalted sunflower seeds 1 c. unsalted dry-roasted peanuts, chopped walnuts or unsalted almonds
Mix all. Makes 4 cups
Per 1/4 cup: 165 calories, 5.6 grams protein, 11.3 grams fat (1.3 saturated), 1.4 grams fiber, 2 mg sodium
