BRAIDED SESAME RING7 1/2 cups (about) unsifted flour, divided use
2 packages active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups warm water (120 to 130 degrees F)
1/2 cup Hellmann's or Best Foods Real Mayonnaise
4 eggs, divided use
2 tablespoons sesame seeds (for topping)
Grease 1 large baking sheet.
In large bowl stir together 2 cups of the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. With mixer at medium speed gradually beat in warm water; beat 2 minutes. Reduce speed to low; beat in 2 more cups flour, Real Mayonnaise and 3 eggs. Beat at medium speed 2 minutes.
Stir in enough flour, about 3 cups, to make an easily handled dough. On floured surface knead 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic, adding 1/2 cup flour if necessary. Place in greased bowl; turn dough over so that top is greased. Cover with damp towel; let rise in warm place about 1 hour or until doubled.
Punch dough down; divide into thirds. Let rest 10 minutes.
Roll each third into a 24-inch rope. Place side-by-side on baking sheet and loosely braid. Shape into a circle, pinching ends together to seal well. Cover with towel. Let rise in warm place about 1 1/2 hours or until doubled.
Beat remaining egg slightly; brush onto surface of dough. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake in 375 degree F oven about 40 minutes or until bread sounds hollow when bottom is tapped. Immediately remove from baking sheet; cool on wire rack.
